Mrs. Rook is excited be a part of the SVA staff and to participate in its mission of providing a rich and meaningful education in a nurturing environment!  She brings over 30 years’ experience in Education and a passion for learning.  She has served K-12 populations, spending most of the time in self-contained elementary classrooms.  Throughout her career, Mrs. Rook has enjoyed learning and often taps professional opportunities including the California History/Social Science Project, California Science Project, GATE summer school, and grant writing to enrich her students’ experience.  She earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Dominican College and her MA in Math Education K-6 from Fresno Pacific University with a focus on Froebel blocks.  Mrs. Rook was recognized as Teacher of the Year by the Masons (2003) and Teacher of the Year by the PTA (2003). 

 

Mrs. Rook balances her professional duties with her family. Monica’s husband Mike teaches Science at SVA. In her free time, you can find Mrs. Rook working in the garden, crafting, spending time with her three children and creating special meals for her family.
