A Visalia native from a family of educators, Jennifer Denham has always had a passion for teaching and learning. After attending Crestwood Elementary, Divisadero Middle School, and Mount Whitney High School, she earned her bachelor's degree from University of California, Davis. Following two years in the nonprofit sector, she completed her teaching credential at California State University, Sacramento. While teaching internationally in El Salvador, Jennifer also earned her master's degree in Education, met her husband, Emilio, and became fluent in Spanish.
Jennifer has taught multiple elementary grade levels in both the United States and El Salvador and has served in a variety of instructional leadership roles, including instructional coaching and curriculum support. Throughout her career, she has led professional development in English Language Arts, Common Core implementation, Response to Intervention (RTI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), helping teachers strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes.
At Sycamore Valley Academy, Jennifer serves as an Instructional Coach, where she partners with teachers to support high-quality instruction and student achievement. She is widely recognized for her expertise in curriculum design and implementation, particularly in English Language Arts, and is a valued resource for both new and veteran educators. Jennifer is passionate about SVA's commitment to hands-on, project-based learning and its dedication to providing a well-rounded education that includes the arts, world languages, and service learning.
Outside of school, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, Emilio, and their son, Sebastian. As a family, they love spending time outdoors, reading, and traveling to visit friends and family throughout the United States and El Salvador.
